HCL TECHNOLOGIES TO INVEST ₹14,257 CRORE IN AI-OPTIMISED DATA CENTRE IN ODISHA

HCL Technologies has received approval to establish an AI-optimised data centre in Khurda with a proposed investment of ₹14,257 crore, adding another major technology project to Odisha’s rapidly expanding digital-infrastructure pipeline. The project is part of the state’s latest round of industrial approvals, in which technology, data centres and artificial intelligence accounted for more than half of the total investment value. HCL’s proposed facility reflects the changing requirements of the global technology industry, where artificial intelligence workloads are increasing demand for high-performance computing, specialised infrastructure and large-scale data processing. For Odisha, attracting an established technology company into the data-centre segment could provide an important anchor for a wider ecosystem of digital businesses. AI-oriented data centres require dependable electricity, sophisticated cooling infrastructure, high-bandwidth connectivity and access to skilled technical personnel.
