TATA STEEL’S ₹3,329 CRORE ODISHA PROJECT TO STRENGTHEN MINERAL-TO-METAL LOGISTICS

Tata Steel has received approval for a ₹3,329 crore project involving a 7-million-tonne-per-annum iron-ore grinding unit and slurry pipeline in Jajpur, strengthening the company’s mineral-to-metal logistics chain serving the Kalinganagar industrial region. The investment is important because efficient movement of raw materials is a major factor in the economics of large steel operations. Slurry pipelines can transport processed mineral material over long distances and can reduce dependence on conventional road and rail movement for certain stages of the supply chain.
